1. What is the Jupiter Tequesta Dog Club?

The Jupiter Tequesta Dog Club is a not for profit organization dedicated to promoting responsible dog ownership, training, and participation in AKC-sanctioned events.
 

2. Where is the club located?

We are located in Jupiter, Florida on the FAU Campus, and serve members throughout Palm Beach County and the surrounding areas.
 

3. How do I become a member?

The first step is to attend a meeting.  See Meeting Information to obtain a link to the meeting New members must be sponsored by an existing member and approved by the Board.

4. What types of training classes do you offer?

We offer a variety of classes including puppy kindergarten, basic obedience, rally, Scent Work, and competition-level training.
 

5. Do I need to be a member to take classes?

No, classes are open to the public, but members may receive discounted rates.
 

6. What age should my puppy be to start training?

Puppies can start training as early as 10–12 weeks once they have received their first set of vaccinations.
 

7. What events does the club host?

We host AKC conformation shows, obedience and rally trials, agility events, matches, and community outreach programs.
 

8. Can mixed-breed dogs participate in your activities?

Mixed breed and non-AKC registered dogs may participate in classes and many of our events.

9. How do I register my dog for classes or events?

You can register online through our Classes page, enter via a third party link or download entry forms provided on our website.
 

10. Do you offer the AKC Canine Good Citizen test?

Yes, we offer CGC testing as part of our training programs and special events.
 

11. What is the refund policy for classes or events?

Refunds are available based on our posted Refund Policy, which includes deadlines for class cancellations and event entry refunds.
 

12. Do you provide private training?

Our focus is on group classes. If you do not see a class you are interested in contact us for availability.
 

13. Are spectators welcome at your dog shows?

Yes, spectators are encouraged to attend our shows and trials. It’s a great way to learn more about different breeds and AKC sports. They are also welcome to visit one of our classes. Check with the instructor for their approval and date and time.
 

14. How can I volunteer with the club?

We welcome volunteers to assist with shows, trials, training classes, and community outreach. Contact us to learn how you can get involved.
 

15. How do I stay updated on club news and events?
